Diego Pujol visit to Cambridge: Overview
M.D. Pujol will be in Cambridge between October 12th to 16th
for a concert, masterclass
and workshop. We also hope to welcome him at the CGO rehearsal on
Sunday 16th October.
Pujol is one of Argentina's foremost players and composers of
music for
the classical guitar. Much of his music is based on Argentine
folk music; one of his particular interests is an ever-closer fusion of
traditional Argentine Tango and formal academic concepts, similar to
that found in the works of Heitor Villa-Lobos and Leo
Brouwer. As a player, he has given concerts and
masterclasses widely across South America, Europe, Australia and the
US.
Pujol's visit is an exciting opportunity to listen to,
explore, play
and discuss his music at first hand, either in a masterclass or in a
workshop. Of course, you will get just as much value and
enjoyment from playing and discussing other South American or western
classical guitar music.
