Our Music
We play an eclectic range of music - our repertoire includes early music, an arrangement of an organ piece by Boellmann, pieces by Debussy, Ravel, Granados, contemporary piece by the American composer (and former member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet) Andrew York and the Welsh composer Daniel Jones, a Latin American piece and a jazz piece in 7/8, this being played primarily using harmonics.
More recently we have introduced subtle vocal accompaniment and some pieces using electric guitar
As there are very few original compositions for large guitar ensembles or orchestras, Peter Rueffer's arrangements make up the bulk of our performance repertoire. Peter is an excellent arranger, and his skills have been recognised by the Kirklees Guitar Competition judges who have awarded him the arrangers' prize in two consecutive competitions (1998 & 2000).
